About Us: Purpose
The purpose of the Music Eunited Program is to work with disabled or financially underprivileged students (grades K-5) and teach them music for free. The children will have music lessons every Sunday and have the chance to learn piano, violin, cello, flute, voice, guitar, drums, and many other instruments. We feel that music can unite a diverse population of people, and can help create an inclusive environment. By allowing these students to have the chance to learn music, we hope to inspire them with what they can accomplish over the course of their musical journey and raise awareness of our cause: poverty and disabilities. As a growing foundation, we hope to assist these families in any way we can through the power of music.
In Music Eunited, we have talented high school music teachers across the city of Austin who come every week to share music with our students. Our high schoolers come from many schools, including Cedar Park High School, Westwood High School, Vista Ridge High School, Vandergrift High School, McNeil High School and many others! Our programs reach elementary students throughout Austin, including Laura Bush Elementary, Fern Bluff Elementary, Parkside Elementary, West Side Elementary, Hill Country Christian School of Austin, Oakhill Elementary, Lake Pointe Elementary, and many more!
Music Eunited also aims to organize projects. Every year, we host the annual Music Eunited Winter Concert and End of Year Concert at a retirement/nursing home to spread music with our community. Thus far, we have had great successes at the Cedar Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and Lakeline Oaks Retirement Community. Music Eunited is responsible for organizing, planning, promoting, and publicizing these concerts, which includes performances from our Music Eunited students, Music Eunited teachers, and other guest performers. We also create holiday cards for the senior residents every year, and have succeeded in delivering warm wishes to residents at residential homes! Likewise in 2017, Music Eunited has reached out to victims of Hurricane Harvey by hosting a fundraising concert to collect items in need (such as diapers, garbage bags, baby wipes, toilet papers and more).

Our Founder
Eunice LeeAn alum of Cedar Park High School, Eunice Lee is a student at Northwestern University in Evanston, Chicago. Lee began piano at age seven, studying with Shearon Horton, and has won numerous competitions and festivals, including Baylor Piano Competition, New Orleans Piano Institute, Texas State International Piano Festival, Minnie Snead Scholarship, Pearl Amster Concerto, MTNA State, and many others. In 2013, Eunice appeared on ‘From the Top’ on NPR, was featured on KMFA, and was interviewed by Austin Statesman. Eunice has had masterclasses with pianists from Julliard, Eastman, and many others, such as Julian Martin, Boris Slutsky, and many more. Eunice was an active member of the Austin Chamber Music Center for many years, where she was the pianist for the Merit Scholarship Ensemble.
In 2014, Lee established Music Eunited. Inspired by acts of service, it was Lee's dream to take part in a project that could impact the her community. Intertwining her passions of music and business, Lee created Music Eunited to help children with financial need or a disability. To spread awareness to the public, Lee designed flyers, t-shirts, and websites to raise the cause. To be more directly involved, Lee also began to organize two annual concerts at nursing homes, inviting other high school students, elementary school families, senior residents, and all others in the community. While the program began with only herself and couple students in piano instruction, business rapidly grew within months, reaching more than five teachers and twenty students in four different instruments. And soon after, Lee also took the initiative at Cedar Park High School to begin a Music Eunited Tutoring Branch. By adding an individualized, academic session after music lessons, Music Eunited could help the elementary students with so many different aspects. By recruiting volunteers from a wide variety of honor societies, Lee successfully expanded Music Eunited across Austin to promote the youth's musical and academic education. |
